This is a pretty good site I have found to make learning fun. I plan to use it for comparing and ordering numbers, but there are numerous games to try out!!!

The First Week!!!
Can I just say how wonderfully pleased I am with how this first week was!!! I am exhausted, sure, but totally excited by the energy and enthusiasm of these precious young minds. I am a REALLY fortunate teacher.
The metal "gang planks", loud hum of the air units, and heat, really are a non issue, because it is really all about what is happening in our room.
Smiles, good manners, bright minds, laughter and learning. It was a challenge getting organized with which folder and which journal are for what, but I never saw any frustration, only peers helping peers, and good questions being asked.
Math textbooks were handed out and science journals have been planned out....and the most exciting news is that we will be getting our Activeboards possibly by Monday!!! I also have heard a rumor that they are installing a sidewalk out to the playground.
I just had to sit the kids down before we left and thank them for such a wonderful first week. Obviously it is going to be an excellent year!!!

Tomorrow is the FIRST DAY
It has been an interesting start to the year. I have to say I am surprised that we were able to get as much done as we did. Other than a few "paperwork" things that need doing, I am ready!
I was really excited to meet parents on Friday. What a wonderful group of kids I have. I can't wait to get started!
Let the teaching and learning and fun begin.

T counting....
It is only days away from the first day of school and I have all the usual excitement and anticipation X 10. The new campus is going to be a change for us all. It is very different. We have to remember that different is not always bad. We will miss the familiar hallways and foyers, but check out the new carpets! I am really liking my new room and the close proximity to the science lab. I can't even express how happy that I am just a hop, skip, and a jump from my team mate, Ms. Lee!
It is always hard to imagine what teachers do before school, but I can't believe all that we accomplished this past week. Some PTA ladies had a peek the last few days and they were enduring the heat right along side of us. They really should know how much that means to us. We truly are a family and it doesn't really matter where we are, we are still the MWE family. We will carry on where we need to.
The best part of all the hardships of this transition has been the incredible feeling of togetherness of the ENTIRE staff. WE ALL were in this together. There were laughs, tears, lunch dates, and LOTS of planning. This has been great. The willingness to support each other in every way is something I will carry with me down the hard planks of the new temporary campus for how ever long it takes and beyond!
Now, bring on the kids! Can't wait to get started! I am soooo excited to be back in fourth grade!

Welcome to My Class
It is actually still summer vacation and I am trying to prepare for the new year. I have all the same wonderings as my future students and their parents. I wonder what the temporary campus will be like? What will my room look like? Will we still have that great "Meadow Wood Feel"?
There are so many things to be excited about, so I don't think these last few days should be spent worrying. I am really looking forward to getting back to 4th grade! I taught it for 8 of my 11 years. I love 4th grade kids, they are so eager to learn and excited about life! Just like me.
I do have some school shopping and last minute fun that must be completed! I better get moving.
Why does the summer slip by so fast?
